Who
The Childhood Autism Foundation, Inc. (CADEF).
What
A new web site for a non-profit organization based in Atlanta.
When
September 2004.
Where
Freelance collaboration with Matter, Inc.
How
This site is a complete redesign for the client, but it had to be simple and easy to expand. Using valid XHTML and CSS code (along with clean, simple design) helps make this site easy to update, re-purpose and expand for a non-profit organization with limited technical resources.
Tools
CSS, XHTML, SSI, IA
Roles
XHTML Developer
Information Architect
Modes
Develop all XHTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Produce graphics for the site.
Bites
A visually clean site for both screen and print.
CSS-based rollovers for the menu system (as opposed to JavaScript).
Code validates to "XHTML 1.0 Transitional" and "W3C CSS."
Information table highlighter.
Result
The client has a new, modern, forward-compatible web site.
Growth
This is my first XHTML/CSS valid project for a client, and the first time I used background images for menu rollovers instead of using JavaScript.
